Venture Overview

Namibia is a sparsely populated country with the wildest and widest open spaces in Africa. The spectacular Namib Desert and the bleak Skeleton Coast form vast wilderness areas and the magnificent Etosha National Park protects a remarkable diversity of Africa's wildlife, including the rare black rhino, elephant, lion and cheetah. Between Victoria Falls and Cape Town we raft the mighty Zambezi, learn Game Ranger Skills, work with a conservation project and go on safari to arrive at journey’s end with a greater understanding of Africa.

Three phases make one Venture:

  • 3 weeks cultural orientation and practical Game Ranger Skills Course
  • 2 week conservation and development projects in Caprivi
  • 2 week Wilderness safari exploration through Namibia to Cape Town

Post Venture Independent Travel Option

During this Africa Venture, you will explore much of Africa’s south west region. But don’t let your Venture stop there! During your 7 weeks, you will have picked up the skills you need for onward, independent travel. Head off alone or with new friends from the Venture. You could explore South Africa’s coast, with its white sand beaches, mountains and forests, by heading east along the Garden Route. Or what about travelling up to Africa’s mountain Kingdom, Lesotho? If you are looking for a challenge you could head to the Drakensburg region for some serious trekking. Call us to talk through your onward travel plans. Airline connections are available to incorporate Africa into a Round the World travel plan.
