Your adventure begins in Livingstone with 2 weeks volunteering on the Book Bus. This wonderful project is ideal for families. The Book Bus is a mobile library and book distribution service. To find out more check out the Book Bus page.
After your time on board comes to an end and you have bid farewell to the teachers, children and your fellow volunteers its time to discover wild Africa!
Take your tribe to explore the wilds of southern Africa. From the roaring Victoria Falls to German inspired Windhoek, travel through Namibia and Botswana searching out new cultures, vast deserts and Africa's Big FIve. Go tracking with the San Bushmen, Climb up the world's highest sand dunes, Experience a wild African safari, Search out black rhinos at Etosha National Park, Try adrenaline sports at Victoria Falls.
The Itinerary
Days 1-14 The Book Bus project
Climb on board and promote reading and story-telling as we travel around community schools and remote villages. Find out more >>>
Days 15- 16 Victoria Falls
Experience the sheer wonder of Victoria Falls. There are plenty of optional activities on offer at the falls so jump in a canoe, go white water rafting or even take a flight to see them from the air.
Day 17 Chobe National Park
Embark on an afternoon cruise along the Chobe River to spot hippos and crocodiles. Then, watch the sun melt into the horizon over the grassy plains. There's plenty of time in the Chobe National Park to spot the magnificent elephants this reserve is famous for.
Days 18-21 Okavango Delta
Start the day with an optional early morning game drive before hitting the road and travelling to the expansive Okavango Delta. Enjoy a traditional mokoro canoe ride through this intricate floodplain and spot some of the resident birdlife and animals. Camp in the heart of this unique network on an island surrounded by lilypad-filled waterways.
Days 22-23 San Bushmen Camp
Spend a day tracking and gathering with the San Bushmen. Learn about their culture and way of life during an overnight stay
Days 24-25 Etosha National Park
Embark on a game drive through the salt pan of Etosha looking for black rhinos, springboks, zebras, giraffes and more
Day 26 Cheetah Farm
Meet tame and wild creatures on a visit to the Otjitotongwe Cheetah Farm.
Day 27-28 Spitzkoppe
Rising dramatically above the arid desert floor, this isolated granite outcrop is an incredible sight
Days 29-30 Swakopmund
Soak up stunning desert vistas and eerie silence before paying a visit to the seals.
Day 31 Sesriem
Climb to the top of the world's highest dunes to survey a vast, sandy sea.
Days 32-33 Windhoek
There's one last chance to explore Namibia’s colonial-style capital.
A discount of 12.5% is available for children aged 6-15.
