Book Bus extensions & Stop Over options: Vic Falls/Livingstone - Accommodation

Duration: 1 to 14 days

If you are visiting Vic Falls or Livingstone or require pre or post accommodation for your Book Bus placement we have a range of accommodation to suit....

Victoria Falls is formed by the Zambezi river flowing over a huge crack in the earth and running into a huge gorge that eventually emerges into Lake Kariba. The falls form the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia and the river is spanned, immediately below the falls, by Isambard Brunel’s iconic bridge which is still a working bridge and the site of the crazy bungee jumping.

The Smoke that Thunders

Since the troubles in Zimbabwe, most activities have moved across the border to the Zambia side. However, 2012 is beginning to see the re-emergence of the Zimbabwe side. There are a host of activities click here for a selection.

There are lots and lots of accommodation options, catering for all budgets. To help you choose where you might like to stay we have divided our favourite hotels into three groups. This is very subjective and based on our personal experiences over the last couple of decades. Bad properties get new managers and re-invent themselves, good places can go bad, so do ask us for the latest client feedback..

Victoria Falls Hotel

Gorges Lodge

Downstream from the falls, with stunning views and a fraction of the footfall compared to the Zambia side. Well worth considering. Prices start from £175pppn

Breakfast at Gorges Lodge

The thing about Vic Falls is that there is so much choice: let us know you’re likes and dislikes and we can probably come up with another nine properties for you!

Victoria Falls is all about relaxing in an energetic way – if that isn’t an oxymoron! There’s so much to do, most of it fairly active, but that can be rejuvenating. How long you stay, and how much you do is completely flexible. A few days is great, a week is fantastic. Airline communications with London are a little tricky because Livingstone isn’t an international airport. We have good links with several “internal” airlines around the falls and can dovetail your international flight (into Lusaka, Windhoek or Johannesburg) with a domestic flight to or from the falls. Thus your safari itinerary can be tweaked to fit.

Prices

Prices: we obtain trade rates from each hotel so making your booking with us costs you nothing extra and may even save you money. We can certainly help to match your expectations with reality and let you know which hotels have lost their sparkle and which ones are improving.

So if you're joining us on the Book Bus or simply on safari then get in touch for more information, advice or to book.
