Message: My daughter stayed at the same Quito hostel through Venture Co and met the group. They shared a very happy few days and were going to stay in touch. She said what a lovely happy group they were and how excited they were.

As parents you have to be brave even to let them have these adventures but what sorrow to have this happen. Our hearts and paryers go out to you and we are thinking of you all.

Message: Becci (and the others),
I'm glad you were out there doing what you'd dreamed of. Last time I saw you I told you how good my gap year had been, I can't believe yours turned out like this. Such a shock and tragedy, there's no way it could have been prevented. It was such a priviledge to know you - good memories of all the dancing shows we've been in!

My thoughts and condolances to all the families affected.

Message: My heartfelt condolences to the families of these exceptional young women, as well as to VentureCo leaders and participants. Our daughter Emily was on the Inca venture in 05 and had an extraordinary experience. We were very conscious of the fact that there were inherent risks in travelling, but would never have stopped her from going. These young ladies died doing something they loved, were living life fully and that is more than can be said for many of us. I hope you find solace in the knowledge that you raised such adventurous, caring daughters and know that their spirits live on through you and the many people they touched throughout their lives. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Message: Mark, David and the VentureCo team,

I just wanted to say how shocked and saddened I was to hear the news from Ecuador. Its both tragic for everyone involved and yet also a valuable reminder to us all that life is short and precious and to be lived to the full, doing the good we can in the short time we´re here.

You as a company are brilliant at that. I am a huge fan of VentureCo and I´ll be the first to say that I would jump at the chance to lead or go on any of your trips in the future despite the recent events. I wish you all strength for the days and weeks ahead, and also all the best for all the many amazing future ventures to come.

All the best, as ever. My thoughts are with you and if there´s anything I can do, let me know.

Much love, Jackie. x

Message: I was firstly shocked by the news of the accident. To hear that 4 young women's lives had been cut short on the same venture that I had made with VentureCo 6 years ago. My heart goes out to Sarah's, Rebecca's, Lizzies's, Emily's and Indira's family and friends..... you can rest assured that they were in the safest hands possible when misfortune happened. Now, I think of the fragility of human life and the unpredictability of the future. I hope that the faimilies can mourn their loved ones in peace and move forward. A permanent tribute is a symbol of their love that exists beyond death and it is a beautiful one.

I would like to express my deepest sympathy and support to you all through what must be a difficult time. Having worked as a leader for you and knowing you all personally, the news sent shivers down my spine as it is every leaders nightmare to deal with a RTA. I hope that everyone involved will find the strength to come through this emotional time, they are all in my thoughts.

I just wanted to say how shocked I was when hearing the news; I will be going to Peru on July 3rd for the Summer Venture. However, I have not changed my mind in the slightest, I believe that the young women were living the dream. I want to do this too.

Message: My greatest sympathy goes out to all those effected by such a tragic accident.
I'm currently in Peru on the Inca and Amazon Venture 56, that left 4 weeks a head of their group. Having taken that same bus only a month a go, we are all deeply shocked and saddened that such a thing could ever be possible. Our thoughts are with the group, Tachi who was with them at the time and also the friends and family of the girls. Im so sorry. I hope that you are all coping as best as can be possible at such a hard time.

Message: DEAR,
Parents and family,
Please accept my most sincere condolences for so tragic loss of your children. These lines are a remember with every fondness SARAH HOWARD AND LIZETH PINCOK and all those who lost their lives on a journey to the welfare benefit of the Andean communities here in South America, why not remember a great person, that while she has left a finished work in the college-LLUPA, HUARAZ us never forget. Their work delivery and efficiency in favour of the heritage of the Andean peoples for so many years has been an example for this Community, SARAH was a leader of simple heart, affectionate, direct but extremely effective in the conservation of cultural heritage, in sum, a big agent who has realized his activity as multiple and creative. From here we say to heart that we can count on what he deems appropriate, SARAH today live in hearts of all those who shared in the village of LLUPA, with sadness, hope, pride people of PERU
