Late Availability - Late availability: There is still a chance to join Inca Summer Venture to Peru, departing on 3rd July and Kilimanjaro Summer Venture to Tanzania departing on 10th July. Call now for more information. Does the idea of travel to far-off destinations appeal to you? How about learning a new language? Could you help a disadvantaged community and acquire new skills while working on a development project? How about the adventure of joining an expedition and making tracks into the world's remote, wilderness mountain ranges? Could you live a foreign culture in countries you probably wouldn't otherwise visit and do things you are unlikely to do in a regular job? At the same time you're probably thinking about how your Time Out will fit into the broader picture, will it be something to impress future employers and how will it look on your CV? VentureCo are Gap Year specialists; all our Ventures are about working within a group, helping developing communities and exploring off the beaten track. If you’re looking for travel with a purpose, in the company of like-minded travellers, then we may have something for you. Our unique combination Ventures consist of three phases:
Three phases, combined in one massive travel experience, make one Venture: the experience of a lifetime. Our back-up (both in-country and in the office in England) allows you to visit remote areas, secure in the knowledge that if things don’t go according to plan, VentureCo have the experience and resources to put things back on track. Some activities are all about you: for example, you will come home having learnt a new language; you will experience the trials and tribulations of group organisation; and will gain first hand knowledge about communicating with fellow Venturers, in-country project managers, overseas transport operators, safari organisers, white-water rafting outfitters, mountain guides and a host of other unfamiliar folk. The challenges are inspiring and the rewards will stay with you forever; and the best example is the “confidence booster” people tell us about when they complete a task they didn’t think they could! Other activities are more about the group: problem solving; helping to organise transport and adventure activities such as mountain biking; have we got enough mules for a mountain trek? Is the Development Project being project-managed to run on time and to budget? How does the group reach collective decisions? And how do we organise ourselves? Gap Year Ventures are exclusively for school leavers taking time off before entering university or employment. Venturers are aged between 17 and 20 years old on joining the Venture and applicants come from the UK and overseas. Travelling with VentureCo allows you to make the best use of your time: There’s no doubt about it, when you’re travelling with expedition travel professionals you get more done; this doesn’t mean that we cram a multi-stop tour into a short itinerary, far from it; with our guidance the group is able to make ambitious plans and see them through. Ice climbing in Patagonia? No problem … Visit the Shaolin Temple in Central China? Fine ….. Renovate that shabby classroom in the village nursery school? ….. Here’s the paint. Throughout our projects, journeys and expeditions you will be part of something special and most likely doing something for the first time. Joining VentureCo means you make the best possible use of your time overseas. Furthermore, working hand-in-hand with the VentureCo Trust (UK registered charity number 1111268) you will be making a useful contribution to a worthy cause, doing something for others at the same time as doing something for yourself. Making your Gap Year work for you is at the heart of VentureCo’s travel philosophy and we should know because the travel experience of the VentureCo office staff is huge! A good Gap Year can give you a lot of the skills that you’ll require at university, and later, prospective employers will look for such skills as confidence, initiative, problem-solving, thinking on your feet and working with defined resources. Taking a break could be the best career decision you ever make. As well as being a lot of fun, it can boost your career prospects and give your CV plenty of added zest.
