Latest News - Gap year in India, next departure on February 28th 2008

Venture Overview
First the Aryans swept in through the northwest frontier, then came the Persians, the Greeks and the Moghuls; more recently, the British Raj. India has absorbed and integrated centuries-worth of foreigners and amalgamated the newcomers into a strikingly complex society that finally found independence with Partition in 1947. As the Venture progresses, what begins as bewilderment becomes an appreciation of India’s great fusion.

Three phases make one Venture:

  • Cultural Orientation: religions, castes, real curry and a sprinkling of Hindi.
  • Live and work with village communities.

Thinking about onward travel?

This Venture is a comprehensive introduction to travelling in India and Nepal so when it’s all over, why not stay on and see a bit more? Continue exploring the Himalayas, cross into Tibet and travel on through Lhasa to China. In southern India, Goa and Kerala provide a dramatic contrast to the Himalayas. Further afield you can fly east to Thailand which opens up South East Asian countries like Malaysia, Singapore and Bali. Airline connections are available to incorporate India and Nepal into a Round the World travel plan.

VentureCo staff have explored extensively throughout Asia. Call us to talk through your ideas and develop a travel plan.
