“Live News” is written by team members as they travel and posted back to the website, along with pictures, to form a dynamic travel diary. These reports, grouped together by departure, are what the group is actually doing and what they actually think. Venturers’ words, rather than our own!
We do not write the reports, so if there is a delay between a group setting off, and a report being posted onto the website, it’s because we haven’t yet received a report from the field. As soon as reports are submitted, we post them.

Once a month, on the first Tuesday of each month, we have an Open Day in Baden Powell House, Kensington. The event is free, and anyone who would like to come along and meet us is welcome. We have a brief presentation about VentureCo and our approach to Adventure Volunteering and travel, followed by informal questions and answers. The idea is that the evening is informal and it's your opportunity to meet "the people behind the website" and chat to us directly. Come and check us out! See below for directions.

Gap Year Fairs and University Visits [more...]
We are regularly invited by universities, schools and careers teachers to attend "Gap Year Fairs". These events involve upwards of a dozen organisations ranging from Gap Year providers to industry work placements and UK volunteer opportunities. Each organisation presents a display describing their programme which gives you the opportunity to walk around and explore the possibilities of what you can do on your Gap Year. Please note that you are often welcome to attend, even if you are not enrolled at the host university / school. Please call us for details

These shows are open to the general public and are hosted in a large arena such as Excel, Dockland or Olympia in London. With the number of people taking Gap Years and Career Gaps rising each year, visiting a public show is the perfect place to start planning your "time out". The event will provide information and advice on how best to broaden your horizons though voluntary work, travel, projects, courses and gap year jobs. There is often a climbing wall, a bungee jump, seminars and a stage featuring live performances of world music.
