Inca Trail
This is probably the most famous and most popular hiking trek in the world! Discover Peru's pristine landscape, friendly people and embark on an Andean Journey to the sanctury of Machu Picchu. Hike through high passes, highland meadows and tropical cloud forests to enter this Inca citadel through the infamous "Sun Gate". This trek will put you in contact with Pachamama (Mother Nature in the local Quechua language) as well as some of man's most impressive achievements.
The Inca Trail is part of more than 23,000 km of Inca road system built by the Incas across South America.
It connected the Tahuantinsuyo Empire from Colombia, the west of Brazil, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia, to the centre of Chile and the north of Argentina.
The trails varied in quality and size, they could be up to 8 metres wide on the coast, in the mountains the paving was about one metre wide. The path was audaciously steep and climbed over the difficult Andean mountains.

Please note: The Inca Trail is extremely popular and sells out quickly...often months in advance.
