The Garden Lodge Botswana
70 Km upstream from Victoria Falls, at the point where 4 national frontiers converge, Namibia, Zambia, Zim’ and Botswana; and where the River Chobe joins the River Zambezi is the small town of Kasane. The lodge is five minutes by boat from Chobe National Park.
Garden Lodge Botswana is small, friendly and owner-managed. The emphasis is on making your stay personal and memorable. There are many fine lodges in Kasane, however most have over a hundred rooms: Garden Lodge has only eight. The large lodges cram 10 guests into a game viewing vehicle, Garden Lodge uses similar vehicles but with a max of 6 guests. For the owners, the lodge is a passion and a lifestyle first and a business second.
The rooms have teak furniture, or “mukwa” as it is called locally, which grows throughout the region and is responsibly sourced. All rooms have a private verandah which overlooks the Chobe River. Depending on your preference, beds can be made up as two singles or one king size double. Bathrooms are en-suite with spacious showers, and supplied with all the toiletries you need, including a hairdryer. All rooms offer a coffee and tea making facility, a ceiling fan, air conditioner, mosquito nets over the beds and mosquito protection in the windows.
Activities revolve around game viewing, either by vehicle or boat, within the Chobe National Park. The Park with its estimated 140,000 elephants, huge herds of buffalo, and almost daily sightings of lion is a photographer’s dream. Usually game drives are in the morning and boat safaris in the afternoon. However, it’s all flexible and safaris can be adjusted to suit guests’ wishes.
