Gunns Camp
Gunn’s Camp is a small and intimate camp on Ntswi Island. It has 6 newly refurbishment (2014) luxury Meru-style safari tents. Each tent at Gunn’s Camp has its own spacious lounge as well as an expansive veranda where private romantic dinners can be served. All tents are discreetly set within the densely treed island ensuring privacy and tranquility. The accommodation area is connected to the main camp via a raised wooden walkway crossing the wetlands and magically lit by a series of fairylike lanterns. The access to the elevated bar, lounge, dining room and swimming pool is also via boardwalks.
Getting to Gunn’s Camp
Gunn’s is a 20 minute light aircraft flight from Maun. It gives a wonderful panorama of the Delta, taking in the magnificence of the winding, papyrus-fringed channels that make up this wetland wonder. On arrival at the private airstrip on Ntswi Island , deep in the Delta, you’ll be met and accompanied to Camp.
Activities while at Gunn’s Camp
Full and half-day day mokoro trips with game walks, bush walks both with picnic lunch, wilderness camping, sunset motorboat cruises and fishing. Guided walks on Chief’s Island, within the Moremi Reserve. The focus of the walks is not only on the larger species but learning about the habits of the smaller animals, watching birds and learning their calls, and identifying plant life and their medicinal uses. Guides are recruited from the local population and are English-speaking, offering a rare insight into the unique phenomenon of the Delta which is their own backyard. These walks are an appreciation of the “little things”.
Gunn’s is 100% eco-friendly and features the latest in solar and waste deposal technology.
