Lebala Camp

Lebala Camp

The Linyanti Area

Why Linyanti? Quite simply because Linyanti is Africa’s best-kept secret; an area of land immediately north of Moremi NP and the Okavango Delta; west of Chobe NP; south of the Caprivi Strip. It consists of three tracts, East Linyanti, Kwando and Selinda and if you tot-up the total number of lodge beds available in this massive area, it comes to just over 100! The chances of seeing anyone else while out and about are virtually nil. If you like your Africa pure, pristine and wild, look no further.

GIRAFFE

The name “Lebala” in Setswana means “open plains” – rather appropriate! This camp is particularly renowned for predator action: the reliable grazing attracts consistent numbers of antelope which inevitably attract the big predators. This is rather like the Mara Triangle in the Maasai Mara and is probably the best lion real estate in Africa. Walks remain at the discretion of the guides who assess the activity of elephant and large predators on the day, and judge whether or not it’s safe to walk.

Cheetah: the Brothers Three

This is one of the six sister camps that come within the Kwando umbrella. Kwando is a locally-owned (Batswana) organisation that is concerned with wildlife and creating top-notch safaris. Their camps are stylish and luxurious, but remain firmly focussed on offering the best safari experience. Venture Co has been working with Kwando for many years and the feedback we receive from clients is consistently outstanding; we don’t hesitate to recommend them.

Departing eland: “pronking” seems a to be the wrong description! “Launching” perhaps?
