Elephant Camp Lodge
The camp is 10 Km downstream from Victoria Falls (close to gorges 10 and 11) on private concession land. It sits on the edge of the gorge with stunning views over Victoria Falls.
The camp consists of just 9 Meru-style tents and retains the intimate atmosphere of a safari camp, yet combines this with all the advantages of being close to civilisation and the main attraction, Victoria Falls. The camp’s public areas consist of a lounge, bar and dining area with a spacious terrace leading to a small pool; the panoramic vistas of both Batoka Gorge and the rising spray from “The smoke that thunders” are outstanding.
A network of small tracks leads to nine tents, all containing private viewing decks and a private plunge pool.

The actual wilderness concession is 17 Km² with the Masuwe River running through the property. Elephant Camp offers guests the opportunity to interact with wildlife at the Wild Horizons Wildlife Sanctuary, most notably the elephants. Walks along the gorge edge with resident cheetah, Sylvester are always popular.
The airport transfer to the camp takes twenty minutes. From camp it is an easy five minute drive to and from town; so perfectly positioned away from the hustle and bustle of town, but close enough for any activities that guests may want to book.
Dining: the large verandah wraps around the central unit and has tables and seating areas placed around the deck, ensuring that guests can enjoy private dining. Weather-dependant, most meals are served outside. Décor is quietly sophisticated with the use of earthy browns, orange and creams. There has been good attention to detail with embossed elephant logos on linen, and table ornamentation that follows the elephant theme.
Each tented cottage unit comprises an entrance hall, lounge, bedroom and en suite bathroom, with an outside shower and plunge pool on the wrap-around verandah. The lounge facilities include bar, fridge, tea and coffee facilities and a sleeper couch, (which could be used for one child 7 years and older, sharing with parents). The bedroom area has either a double or twin configuration with walk-in mosquito netting. The en suite bathroom consists of a bath, toilet, basin and shower. The bathroom is part of the bedroom unit but a clever divider unit gives more privacy. The entrance hall houses luggage holds and cupboard space. In the cupboard is a modern safe unit. Each unit has air conditioning and fans. There are spare round plug fittings in the bedroom and a shaver plug fitting in the bathroom.
The daily rate at Elephant Camp is inclusive of full board, all drinks and two daily transfers into town for activities.
