Horse Riding Challenge in Spain
The BHS Challenge ride in Spain takes place in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The horses we ride are Andalusian and Andalusian cross; there are also a couple of Appalossa mares. The tack is predominately English but there are a couple of Western rigs too.
The days aren't too long (average 5 hrs in the saddle) and the going is sound. The mountain trails are quiet narrow in places so you need to stay focussed, but generally speaking the riding is a pleasure; the accommodation is comfy and just a couple of nights are spent in tents allowing the group to get well away from the usual touristy areas and up into the beautiful forests where few people venture.

Las Alpujarras is the name of the southern slopes of the Sierra Nevada mountain range in Spain. The flora and fauna of Las Alpujarras is spectacular, the mountain views fantastic and the riding experience is out of the top draw.
