Morocco horse riding holidays are easily accessed by scheduled and low cost carriers: Morocco lies so close to Europe, yet is a completely different horse riding holiday experience.
Horse riding on the edge of the Sahara, close to the end of the trans-Sahara camel caravan route of old, on a plain that is as flat as a billiard table (The Haouz Plain) with the remote, snow-caped peaks of the High Atlas forming a splendid backdrop, is a dream come true. Brilliant horses and guides that bring fables alive.
By complete contrast, horseback riding along the Barbary Coaast is thrilling: forward-going horses, firm sand and a following wind!
The first horse riding holiday we organised to Morocco was in 1983 and since then some of the Berber guides we have known have retired, others have married and still others now have their own agencies. We have a wonderful array of contacts for all of our horseback riding adventures and can tap into “The Berber Grapevine” to find just about anything: cars, guides, Kasbahs, mules, Barb stallions and just about anything else to do with travelling in the Maghreb, Atlas mountains and Sahara.
